PRIME MINISTER DORIN RECEAN HAD A MEETING WITH BERD REPRESENTATIVES

June 14, 2024, Chisinau – The projects implemented in our country with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) - the largest institutional investor of Republic of Moldova, were discussed, today, at the meeting of Prime Minister Dorin Recean with representatives of the financial institution. Prime Minister Dorin Recean said, during the discussions, that the EBRD's financial and expertise support is valuable for the authorities from Chisinau, especially in the realization of the dynamic European agenda that the Government has.

"We must intensify our strategic dialogue in order to streamline and speed up the implementation of infrastructure projects, fortifying governance the banking sector and the capacities of public institutions", said the prime minister. During the meeting, the preparation for the launch of the optimization projects of the centralized supply system with thermal energy in capital, the operational modernization of postal services, as well as the activity of the Giurgiulesti International Free Port.

At the same time, the importance of developing the private sector was discussed, by offering advantageous financing projects, in collaboration with the banking sector. Given that over 20% of the EBRD's project portfolio is oriented towards the private sector, it was mentioned the need to support agriculture and insurance for farmers.
