The Government approved the Financing Program "Energy Efficiency Fund in the Residential Sector of the Republic of Moldova"

April 10, 2024, Chisinau - Owners of individual houses and condominium owners' associations will be able to receive grants and allowances for the efficiency of energy consumption. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the Financing Program "Energy Efficiency Fund in the Residential Sector of the Republic of Moldova" (FEERM).

The program aims to renovate a heated area of at least 507 thousand square meters of buildings in the residential sector, i.e. about 8,500 apartments, or about 5,000 individual houses. Also, by 2027, energy savings of at least 66.9 million kWh are to be achieved for domestic consumers, i.e. the equivalent of over 100 million lei.

Improving the energy performance of residential buildings is the most sustainable method for reducing the impact of high energy prices and tariffs on the population. This year, financial means in the amount of over 300 million lei were allocated for the implementation of energy efficiency measures in the residential sector.

The objectives of this program are set for the period 2024-2027, and for their implementation financial resources worth about 1.4 billion lei are needed, which will be capitalized through the National Center for Sustainable Energy
